Is this landscape curbing a new product?

We realize extruded concrete curbing is a new concept to many people in Pennsylvania. However, extruded concrete has been around in excess of 20 years, with a proven tract record at preventing sod from entering your flower beds. Best of all, you do not have weeds growing in-between this edging since it is all one continuous curb.

Are you limited to a design layout, such as with Timbers?

Concrete curbing is ideal for the Pennsylvania hills and mountains. A small concrete extruding machine is very easily maneuvered, thereby providing the design flexibility needed for your specific lawn type. It curves, circles, or extrudes straight lines to allow you any design your heart desires.

How effective is this Continuous Concrete Edging and Curbing in keeping out grass?

Since continuous concrete curbing is seamless, there are no gaps for weeds or grass to grow between. The curb is 6" wide by 4" high on the back side that slopes down to 2" on the front. The dimensions of the curb insures stability and is impossible for grass/weeds to penetrate. Today homeowners have experimented with wood timbers, metal or plastic edging, and brick. Your costs and effort at a bordering eventually goes down the drain due to rot, rust, warping, or just plain out does not stay in place. Worst yet, you are still fighting the grass overflow and weeds.

Our Concrete Edge is unsurpassed by all other methods of edging and is there to stay! Best of all, we give you a "one year guarantee" because we know you will not find an edging that is more beautiful and effective than our decorative curb.

Does this process damage my lawn or flowerbeds?

Absolutely not. In fact, we recommend you have your sod, flowerbeds and sprinkler system completed prior to our arrival. It is easier to accomplish that flow you are searching for. Once the design has been determined, we use a special power bededger/trencher that removes the top layer grass that is approximately is 8" wide. The trenching provides a flat, below ground level surface into which the curb will be extruded.

Sounds good, but can anyone truly afford this?

If you can afford other means of edging, you can definitely afford this. Our prices are very compatible with materials and labor of other edging products. The only difference is ours is beautiful, warranted and there to stay.

Do you offer a maintenance program for your landscape border?

Yes. We recommend having your landscape border and garden walkways sealed with a specific sealer 6 months after the installation and then annually. The sealer will provide a unique layer that protects the concrete and helps maintain color integrity and shine. Applying sealer each year will help ensure your landscape border or walkway will look great for years to come. We can provide this service for you or you can purchase a sealer at your local hardware store and apply it with a garden sprayer. If you want to use the sprayer again, be sure to buy the proper cleaner listed on the sealer instructions for sprayer clean up.

Why is sealer important?

Calcium carbonate deposits may form on the surface of the edging due to a natural reaction between carbon dioxide and the free lime in the cement, often referred to as efflorescence. As a result color edging may appear faded. While efflorescence can be cleaned using a solution of 1-part muriatic acid to 5-parts water, we feel it is better to prevent the initial buildup. Curing sealer will appear glossy at first but will result in a matte finish. To obtain a shiny appearance, a high gloss sealer, containing at least 25% solids can be applied after the 28-day curing process.

How long does it take to install the landscape border?

Depending on the contour, form, and linear foot, most residential and commercial jobs can be completed in one 8 hour day. Remember, that our cost includes labor and installation. You pay only for the linear foot which varies on the pattern, color, stamping, and texture of choice.
